Be Remembered Lyrics
Ziyase:
Don’t turn the page
I want to see this
Please don’t turn the page
I want to read this
So please tell the writers, the scholars, the readers, the watchers and beg them
Do not turn the page
And please remember me
Destro:
What will you be remembered for?
MessenJah:
The Historian clears his table and sets aside his instruments
Diligence will not know a better example than how he’s into this
His book lays open, his pen is like a brush
He strokes as he writes, he is not in a rush
“Memories”, that is the title of his work
He puts his influence in words, he puts entrance in verbs
Dissects plots, scenes; novelty in a novel, brilliance in text
Instilling devices in the way he knew best
Slides a script, switches slides, invites his reader for a ride
Instills his strides in the lives of the people he’d collide
He role plays as a writer, (a contributor), to an anthology
(An encyclopedia), a biography
(He is crafting poetry)
He is ready to fit his page into the book of history
All of his endeavors on a paper filled with memories
He has everyone to thank, for the successes that he’s had
He turns to the world and says with the history book in his hand
Ziyase:
Don’t turn the page
I want to see this
Please don’t turn the page
I want to read this
So please tell the writers, the scholars, the readers, the watchers and beg them
Do not turn the page
And please remember me
MessenJah:
This book you read, this publication
Literary work that literally works your imagination
Contains chapters, and each is uniquely mastered right after a master
Who crafted stanzas, supplying questions with answers
Overflowing, overlapping, over paragraphs of parables
Parallel tales of men and women void of paraphrasing
Power phasing through the script Parachuting over lens
Paradigms ready to change
The product of many pens
The history book is a record
(The text, letter and scroll)
Historians assemble
(As subjects of many quotes)
Will I be remembered?
(Remembered in many hearts)
Remembered for how I end
(And not for how I start)
The Historian wrote to inspire the curious
But his page is wiped of the words of his experience
It turns blank, his chapter dwindles and starts to vapourise
His writing vanishes as he cries…
Ziyase:
Don’t turn the page
I want to see this
Please don’t turn the page
I want to read this
So please tell the writers, the scholars, the readers, the watchers and beg them
Do not turn the page
And please remember me
Destro:
Some will leave a mark
Others a scar
Majority stuck in the vacuum of emptiness never aiming to raise the bar
MessenJah:
Will we remember you for your power?
Ziyase:
No
MessenJah:
Will we remember you for your fame?
Ziyase:
No
MessenJah:
Will we remember you for your money?
Ziyase:
No
MessenJah:
Then what will we remember you for?
Ziyase:
For the memories, the experience
The love and the care, lessons you shared
The sacrifices you made
MessenJah:
The historian begged for his page not to be skipped
For a miracle, (a twist), a dramatic change in the script
His tale is a lesson, a query for us all
To ask
Ziyase:
What will you be remembered for!
Destro:
I hope they remember you
